Fire Science Academy Announces Dates for 2008 Underground Mine rescue Competition
Is your team the "Best in the West?"  The University of Nevada, Reno Fire Science Academy in conjunction with the Mine Safety and Health Administration will host the Fourth Annual Western Region Underground Mine Rescue Competition April 18-19, 2008 in Carlin, NV.  Join us for the opportunity to compete against some of the best mine rescue teams in the country.  Gain valuable experience and put your training to the test.  Use the contest to build confidence in your teams or to prepare for national competition.

New to mine rescue contests?  No problem!  Join us at the contest as a novice non-competitive team.  Non-competitive teams complete the same course as all the others, however rather than being scored they are coached through each scenario.  It is a great way to learn the ropes, and build skills and techniques.  After the novice teams have completed the course they can observe the other teams and learn from their experience.

2008 registration and sponsorship forms will be available after January 1, 2008.  For more information, please contact Randy Squires or Todd Valline at (775) 754-6003.
